Lubbock Power & Light to Host Public Power Week Customer Appreciation Event
Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L) is celebrating Public Power Week, October 6-12, along with more than 2,000 other community-powered, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 54 million Americans. Public Power Week provides opportunities for customers and stakeholders to understand how to better engage with and benefit from their utility.
To celebrate, LP&L is inviting community members to enjoy refreshments, snow cones, and family-friendly activities, including a bounce house and face painting, on Sunday, October 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Spirit Ranch. LP&L will have information booths so our customers can learn more about how their electric utility operates, along with interactive demonstrations including bucket trucks and live electricity exhibitions.
Today, LP&L has over 300 employees, 108,000 meters, 4,936 miles of power lines, and 41 substations that continue to serve our community.
