During the regularly scheduled April board meeting, LP&L Electric Utility Board voted unanimously to lower the power cost recovery factor portion of the electric rate for the summer, effective for all residential and commercial customers June 1 through September 30, 2020.
This is the sixth overall rate decrease in the past 36 months, resulting in substantial savings for all customers through the hottest months of the year when electricity use is at its highest. The rate reduction will also help lower costs for customers using more energy while staying home or dealing with the adverse financial effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
